Hotel neighbourhood

Where history meets modern elegance

Just below the hotel windows is Prague's Náplavka ⁠-⁠ a popular meeting place on the Vltava riverbank. A 10⁠-⁠minute walk will take you to the Kinsky Garden nature park with its many charming nooks and crannies and views of the city.

Just a few streets away at Anděl, a major intersection, you’ll find the Smichov Shopping Centre with its fashionable boutiques, as well as smaller shops, cinemas and restaurants. From the nearby railway station, trains leave on a magical route along the Berounka River to the grounds of Karlštejn Castle.

Whatever destination appeals to you in Prague, the City of a Hundred Spires, it’s all within easy reach of the Mamaison Hotel Riverside.

Embankment

Both banks of the Vltava, known as "Náplavka", are a popular place to get together, enjoy a glass of prosecco, or take a morning run along the river. At weekends, they come alive with farmers' markets or food festivals; cultural and sporting events or fashion shows are also held here.

With twenty stylish galleries built right into the retaining walls of the waterfront, you can visit Náplavka to eat out and enjoy some culture all year round.

Strahov Monastery

The Premonstratensian Monastery, just a few minutes' walk from Prague Castle, is one of the most important architectural monuments in the Czech Republic. It boasts the Basilica of the Assumption of Our Lady, a 19th⁠⁠-⁠⁠century picture gallery and 200,000 valuable volumes in the halls of the historical library.

And don't forget to taste the excellent beer from the monastery brewery.

Petřín

The unmistakable observation tower inspired by the Eiffel Tower is not the only attraction on Petřín Hill. Very close to the Prague Castle complex, you can find an observatory, a mirror maze, an artificial waterfall and a rose garden with 12,000 roses.

Take the cable car up to the top and admire one of the most beautiful views of Prague opening up along the way.

Malostranské náměstí (Small Town Square)

The centre of one of the most magical parts of the city. Right on the square, you can't miss the Baroque pearl of Prague, St. Nicholas Cathedral and the classicist Lichtenstein Palace. It takes just a few minutes towalk to Prague Castle, Charles Bridge or the popular Lennon Wall.

However, you might just want to wander through the adjacent narrow streets, which still evoke the spirit of historical Prague.

National Theatre

A magnificent building on the banks of the Vltava River, one of the Czech national symbols. The National Theatre is not only an important architectural monument, but also the venue for some spectacular cultural performances.

You can call in at the Art Deco Slavia café opposite the theatre. Its most prominent guests in the past include Václav Havel and Miloš Forman.

Dancing House

You only have to cross Jirásek Bridge to enjoy world⁠⁠-⁠⁠class architecture. The work of architect Frank Gehry stands just 500 metres from the Hotel Riverside . It was named after its towers, which symbolize a dancing couple. There's a gallery with an observation deck on the roof of the Dancing House.
